I am very pleased to announce the release of my first solo cassette tape, entitled “Dalet.” Every sound on the tape was made using electric guitar, aided only by two small tube amplifiers and an assortment of effect pedals. Truth be told, I did kick the amp once to generate a reverb “splash,” but every other sound recorded originated in my guitar. I feel that this recording captures my most melodic and emotionally charged playing to date and draws upon my passion for improvisation as well as my penchant for composition. It is my hope that these tunes will get stuck in the heads and hearts of those who listen.
“Dalet” was a labor of love, a celebration of guitar, and a tribute to some of my favorite guitar players. The idea for an “all guitar” recording itself came as a tribute to the late, great, Les Paul, whose looped and multi tracked guitar (along with Mary Ford’s voice) served as the template for how I approached many of these songs. Additionally, this album is dedicated to Gary Moore, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Vai, Uli Jon Roth, Eddie Van Halen, and countless other inspirators as well. I sincerely hope that “Dalet” will be a fun and engaging listen for fans of guitar, rock, jazz, and honest musical expression.
“Dalet” will be available on cassette tape in extremely limited quantities beginning April 25th, 2015. Additionally, “Dalet” will be available as a free high quality download on bandcamp.com
. Currently, I am playing rare regional solo performances in Washington state. I have plans to do limited touring in 2015.
